The World Vision International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Relief Drivers.
The mission of the organisation includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed and promoting human transformation.
Responsibilities
- Transport World Vision staff/donors/stakeholders and consultants to designated approved locations.
- Ensure adequate safety, clean, security and maintenance of the project vehicle assigned
- Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tyres, brakes, car washing, etc
- Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and necessary spare parts
- Route planning and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc request by the office
- Ensure passengers adhere to all road safety regulations
- Fulfil special requests by picking up and delivering items as directed
Requirements
- Minimum of five O’level credits in senior secondary certificate examination
- Clean class four driver’s license with five years, minimum, of driving 4X4 vehicles
- Class two licence or experience of driving heavy-duty vehicles is added advantage
- Valid defensive driving certificate
- Apprentice certificate or experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage
- Expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations
- Experience with NGOs or a large complex organisation is preferred
