World Vision International is seeking to fill the role of Regional Finance Officer.
The mission of the organisation includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed as it promotes human transformation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the regional office and programme accounting staff in financial management, and financial accounting systems in line with WVU policies and procedures
- Provide guidance in the preparation of budgets, development of project proposals with a view to advising on key strategic financial implications
- Review completeness and accuracy of financial information uploaded to Horizon, PROvision, Sun System and Share Point
- Analyse and share monthly/quarterly finance dashboards across the clusters, tracking and managing financial performance for meaningful decision making
- Carry out financial reviews on prescribed objectives for particular active projects, phasing out projects and providing advice on strategic action
- Provide technical guidance on audit and follow up on audit recommendations for programmes
- Carry out competence assessment of programme accounting staff based on reasonable benchmarks that can identify training needs and other issues of recommendation in line with WV human resources manual
- Provide technical support to the regional office and project accounting staff in financial management and accounting systems in line with WVU policies and procedures
- Identify, participate and advise management on the recruitment of all regional, cluster and ADP accounting staff
- Allocate assignments, monitor performance, mentor, coach and build staff capacity in line with the World Vision mission
Requirements
- University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Accounting and or a full professional qualification in ACCA, CPA or CIMA or equivalent
- Three years, minimum, of post qualification technical and business work experience in finance
- Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Vision Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SUN Accounting and Access
- Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control procedures
- Knowledge of project management and project cycles
- Written and spoken communication skills are essential
- Field work experience
- High level of integrity
