World Vision International is seeking to fill the role of Project Manager.

The mission of the organisation includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed as it promotes human transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish or strengthen collaborative and partnership relationships with all project stakeholders including technical services, religious leaders, churches and religious organisations
  • Develop peacebuilding opportunities for the communities benefiting from the project
  • Work closely with colleagues to achieve project objectives
  • Ensure the planning, monitoring and evaluation of project activities including the quality of implementation, and establishment of accountability mechanisms
  • Ensure the MEAL project management tools are updated and the recommendations resulting from the project monitoring meetings documented and implemented
  • Ensure documentation of lessons learnt and case studies in the implementation of project activities and contribute to learning with and for other projects
  • Provide financial planning (including budget forecasting), tracking monthly project expenses and working closely with finance staff to control expenses and ensure budgets are executed in accordance with WVI financial procedures
  • Ensure capacity building of staff and community partners, technical assessment of staff and monitoring of temporary staff for the sustainability of project results
  • Ensure project is articulated in synergy with other local activities conducted by WV and ensure good collaboration with other organisations and partners in the intervention areas
  • Maintain quality by respecting World Vision standards and international humanitarian standards while ensuring humanitarian accountability, protection and gender mainstreaming

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management
  • Skills and experience in the process of budgeting, planning and financial management of projects
  • Experience and a good understanding of the humanitarian industry
  • Five years, minimum, of experience with an international NGO
  • Good command of English and French
  • Sensitivity to issues affecting children and willingness to promote the child safeguarding policy
  • Experience in community mobilisation, local governance and advocacy
  • Ability to build staff capacity
  • Good knowledge of project intervention areas in addition to a good command of local languages
  • Good knowledge of I.T. tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in communication and project monitoring
  • Ability to work under pressure, and willingness to work in rural and volatile security areas
