World Vision (WV) International is seeking to fill the role of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer.
The mission of World Vision International includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed as it promotes human transformation.
Responsibilities
- Using the World Vision monitoring and evaluation framework, report on project progress
- Monitor the key indicators of the project
- Ensure the implementation of the various elements of monitoring and evaluation
- Design public newsletters and accountability framework
- Ensure project staff are familiar with the functioning of established accountability mechanisms and users have a favourable framework to submit their opinions, suggestions, requests for information and other relevant feedback
- Ensure establishment of accountability system and a mechanism for receiving, processing and providing feedback to users’ suggestions and complaints
Requirements
- Strong task management skills including attention to detail
- Good understanding of World Vision and Sphere rescue standards
- Knowledge of and adherence to the NGO code of conduct
- Intercultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical endurance
- Ability to work and contribute to a team-building environment
- Ability to maintain performance expectations in various cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and conditions of physical difficulty with limited resources
- Commitment to World Vision core values and mission statement
- Ability to show an exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in a specific local cultural context
- Agreement with the Christian ethics of World Vision and participation in devotions
- Strong work supervision skills with an eye for detail
- Good understanding of World Vision and Sphere standards in humanitarian assistance
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) skills
- Three years, minimum, of experience in project development and monitoring, particularly primary health projects
