World Vision International is seeking to fill the role of Deputy Chief of Party.

The mission of the organisation includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed as it promotes human transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee World Vision’s work in an assigned grant, ensuring all grant goals are met
  • Organise and direct the work of grant staff and short-term advisors
  • Provide supervision, training and performance management
  • Establish and maintain effective reporting, evaluation, and internal communication
  • Ensure timely and accurate reports that meet donor requirements
  • Develop and update workforce planning
  • Demonstrate strong staff management practices consistent with the organisation’s policies, donor requirements and local laws
  • Ensure proper technical capacity of staff is available

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in programme management
  • Seven years, minimum, of relevant experience
  • Five years, minimum, of experience working in Rwanda (desirable)
  • Proven ability to manage technical assistance teams
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries and donor colleagues
  • Experience in integrating gender and youth into complex programming
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good relations with relevant partners including government, donors, etc
  • Familiarity with USAID requirements
  • Strong presentation and report writing skills
