World Health Organisation (WHO) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the role of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Officer.

The primary role of the WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Responsibilities 

  • Establish and strengthen coordination platform for SRHR in every district
  • Support the dissemination of SRHR guidelines and policy documents to stakeholders
  • Support capacity-building training workshop for district health management teams
  • Support the Piloting of self-care intervention for family planning
  • Support districts to conduct integrated supportive supervision of SRHR facilities
  • Support the pilot alert system to monitor and facilitate last-mile distribution of SRHR commodities in three districts
  • Support the expansion of SRHR services to facilities
  • Establish skills lab for SRHR in each district hospital
  • Support the development, printing and distribution of information, education and communication (IEC) material
  • Develop policy brief in consultation with partners and stakeholders
  • Support popularisation of a self-care intervention to relevant stakeholders
  • Support quarterly performance review meeting
  • Support the annual SRHR summit

Requirements

  • First university degree in Public Health or a related field such as Community Health and Social Sciences
  • Clinical background (desirable)
  • Formal training and/or experience in sexual and reproductive health (desirable)
  • Five years, minimum, of experience in developing/designing and implementing public health programmes at national and/or decentralised levels
  • Experience working on SRHR interventions (desirable)
  • Experience working with the MoHS at national or decentralised levels, WHO or other UN entities, health NGOs or CSOs (desirable)
  • Excellent facilitation skills with counterparts and partners
  • Training and capacity building of stakeholders
  • Report writing skills
  • Strategic planning skills (desirable)
  • Monitoring and evaluating public health programmes (desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
