World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking to fill the role of Storekeeper.

WFP works to ensure the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

Responsibilities 

  • Efficiently receive/dispatch goods, including transhipment against approved official documentation, ensuring accuracy of physical count of goods, including quality in accordance with established standards
  • Prepare, verify and sign warehouse and transportation documents, and maintain confidential records and accurate warehouse operation records to ensure immediate reporting of goods movements in accordance with company requirements
  • Perform daily warehouse closing reconciliation and precise inventory controls in support of internal control systems in accordance with warehouse management requirements
  • Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on quantity and quality of products received/shipped and handled
  • Quickly detect and analyse the reasons for stock deviations/damage, investigate missing quantities and prepare warehouse loss reports, recommending appropriate solutions to enable informed decision making
  • Implement appropriate measures to protect food and non-food products, to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in accordance with procedures established by WFP and authorisation received from supervisor
  • Monitor the condition of warehouse and goods and take appropriate measures to ensure efficient planning of warehouse space and well-organised storage of goods in accordance with WFP warehouse standards
  • Advise and train warehouse colleagues to contribute to their development and peak performance

Requirements

  • High school diploma (post-secondary certificate in any discipline related to logistics is desirable)
  • Three years of professional experience in a similar field
  • Proficiency in the use of office equipment and software such as Microsoft Word
  • Experience in using logistics databases to extract routine reports
  • Experience in managing food warehouses
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Experience in processing invoices
  • Experience working in the humanitarian sector
