The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking to fill the role of Programme Policy Officer.
WFP works to ensure the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
Responsibilities
- Support the drafting of the National School Feeding Policy to serve as a framework for implementation of school feeding programmes nationwide
- Lead the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidance manuals for the school feeding programme
- Provide technical review of the national policy environment relating to school feeding, social protection and safety nets (food), nutrition and education
- Facilitate and follow up on all communications, events and official letter preparation/issuing related to the current school feeding programme
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field, or first university degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses
- One year, minimum, of experience for holders of advanced degree (master’s degree and above) or two years, minimum, of experience for holders of first university degree in the area of providing humanitarian assistance, food assistance, or education assistance
- Experience in writing policy and strategy documents and participating in policy level dialogue
- Excellent writing and communications skills in English and Arabic
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and independently to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to apply programme quality standards to project design and organisational learning
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Nationality of Sudan
