The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking to fill the post of Programme Assistant.

WFP works to ensure the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper implementation of PNASI and other activities of the programme unit/WFP by the staff of the implementing partners, especially the partner NGO, ensuring effective daily functioning of school canteens in the Alibori region
  • Provide project management and/or general office support, following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the capacity building of the NGO mediators and supervisors, and school canteen committee members
  • Plan and implement regular field visits, facilitate field visits with donors and other key actors of programme
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports
  • Perform specialised and/or standardised processes and activities within the specific technical area of work that supports alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines
  • Perform accurate and timely recording of data related to ongoing activities, following corporate standards and guidelines
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing programme activities
  • Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries, requesting assistance where necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Agronomy, Social Sciences, Economics, Nutrition, Planning, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation of Project/Programme
  • Five years, minimum, of progressively responsible work experience in planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of project/programme in the agricultural sector
  • Mastery of data collection and analysis methods and professional experience in the implementation of United Nations projects will be a plus
  • Fluency in both oral and written French and intermediate English knowledge (level B)
  • Skills in common office software and technical support applications
  • Nationality of Benin
