Apply: WFP Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

The World Food Programme (WFP) has called for application for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

The WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs to the development of monitoring, review and evaluation plans that will provide the most relevant and strategic information toward achieving expected results (as set out in the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) and other global and regional plans), while being compliant with WFP evaluation and monitoring requirements
  • Budget for monitoring and evaluation costs and advocate through line manager for both appropriate financial and human resourcing
  • Contribute to evidence-based decision-making on programme design and implementation, notably through making monitoring, review and evaluations findings accessible, developing innovative, user-friendly and informative products
  • Support WFP Management in addressing recommendations from monitoring, reviews and evaluations to ensure that follow-up actions are taken as required
  • Contribute to building monitoring and evaluation capacity of WFP staff and partners through training and information sharing
  • Manage junior staff members and guide them as required to enable high performance

Requirements

  • Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Economics, Agriculture Economics Statistics, or other closely relevant areas
  • Seven years, minimum, of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning with expertise in setting up complex monitoring and learning systems, capacity development and establishment of results-based data systems
  • Experience in collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data using a variety of tools and approaches
  • Experienced managing office colleagues, government authorities, local NGOs, and other implementation partners
