The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking to fill the role of Budget and Programme Associate.

WFP works to ensure the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

Responsibilities

  • Review budget plans, monitor and analyse financial performance of activities defined in the country strategic plan and make recommendations in compliance with WFP financial policies and procedures and best practices
  • Provide comprehensive analysis on fund and grant balances, identifying surpluses and deficits, and suggest corrective measures
  • Support pipeline management, ensuring efficient monitoring, to prevent, mitigate the effects of pipeline breaks and maximise operational effectiveness of programmes
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal processes, enhancement of corporate systems and design of tools
  • Enter budget plans and revisions in the corporate systems, ensuring data is timely and accurately captured
  • Review, compile, analyse data, maintain accurate records or files
  • Maintain communication regarding fund-management matters and related processes with stakeholders
  • Provide guidance to other support staff members and contribute to their learning and development in budget planning, fund management and operational planning

Requirements

  • Secondary school education and post-secondary certificate in a functional area
  • Five years, minimum, of experience in project management, finance and procurement or a related experience
  • Fluency in oral and written English
