Welthungerhilfe is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Expert Logistics.

Welthungerhilfe is a one of the largest private aid organisations fighting hunger in over 30 countries.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper procurement of all required items for the projects in close collaboration with key staff
  • Ensure fully transparent and corruption-free implementation of contracting and subcontracting of services
  • Make full use of the data systems of Welthungerhilfe DRC and advise on further development
  • Advise on the introduction of more efficient asset management (including fleet management)
  • Reintroduce data processing of asset used
  • Prepare monthly summaries on asset management and cost accounting
  • Support the logistics staff members in the regional offices in managing their logistical work more efficiently
  • Assist in the use and development of data systems
  • Establish and use a real-time data system for inventory management
  • Provide disciplinary leadership and give clear recommendations to the country director and the head of projects

Requirements

  • University or polytechnic degree in Development Cooperation/Humanitarian Aid/Logistics or similar qualification
  • Several years of job related experience, preferably in the region
  • Sound experience with planning and data collection methods
  • BMZ/EU/KFW donor experience is an asset
  • Coordination and organisational skills under a high workload
  • Broad intercultural competence and ability to cope in an international team
  • Ability to cope in conflict zones and fragile environments
  • Willingness to travel in the region
  • A very good command of spoken and written English and French
  • Swahili language skills would be an advantage
