The US Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has announced an open competition for initiatives that promote educational and cultural engagement and foster mutual understanding between the United States of America and Tanzania. The Embassy is seeking programmes designed to further the development of Tanzania’s future leaders, build the capacity of Tanzanian institutions and promote awareness and understanding of shared USA and Tanzanian values.
Possible programme focal areas are not limited to:
- Promoting democratic governance
- Promoting broad-based economic growth
- Improving health and education, especially among women and youth
- Advancing regional and domestic security
Benefits
The expected size of individual awards is between $2,000 and $25,000
Eligibility
- Applicants may be individuals or representatives of civil society and nongovernmental organisations, cultural organisations, or research and academic institutions
- Proposals must clearly address the goals and objectives of the funding opportunity
- Proposals must clearly address all questions in the ‘Dar PD Small Grant Application Form’
- All documents must be in English
- Proposal budgets must be in dollars
- Programme performance periods should be no more than 12 months
- All programme activities must take place outside of the United States of America and its territories
