Apply: US Embassy Mauritania Human Rights Grants

The U.S. Embassy Nouakchott Programme and Grants Office (PGO) of the U.S. Department of State has announced a request for statements of interest from organisations interested in applying for funding for programme proposals that promote human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The objective of the programme is to implement innovative efforts to educate vulnerable Mauritanians, civil society actors, and the public on anti-slavery, anti-trafficking, anti-discrimination, and gender-based violence (GBV) legislations.

Additionally, the programme is also aimed at Implementing activities to promote the rights of children victims of mendicity. This includes raising awareness on existing laws and collecting data to inform USG and GIRM’s programming.

Benefits

  • Award amounts may range from a minimum of $100,000 to a maximum of $200,000

Eligibility

  • Open to  not-for-profit organisations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organisations
  • Educational institutions
  • Foreign Public Entities (FPE) such as public international organisations and governmental institutions
