The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking to fill the role of Project Management Support Associate.
UNOPS’ mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations of programme/project management, financial processes, financial records and reports
- Ensure elaboration of the content of internal standard operating procedures in programme/project management, in consultation with the direct supervisor and office management
- Support all aspects of project implementation and service delivery in full compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations
- Monitor progress for all projects/services agreements, anticipating operational and budgetary issues and taking pre-emptive action
- Interact with colleagues, clients and partners and undertake missions, as may be required, to guide operational issues and UNOPS service provision
- Resolve operational and process issues, referring complex issues to supervisor with clear recommendations for courses of action
- Review service requests, and assess their complexity, level of effort and UNOPS service fee levels for compliance with the UNOPS self-financing principle, and feedback prior to acceptance of projects for execution and/or service requests
- Maintain accurate data and information to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of project and service activities, and institutionalise and disseminate knowledge
- Coach and/or mentor colleagues on portfolio management and service administration and encourage feedback to lead to process improvement and standardisation
- Publish and share information and knowledge with colleagues, clients and partners
- Participate in the training for the programme, operations and projects staff on programme/project management
Requirements
- Secondary school education with six years of experience
- Diploma certificate in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Procurement, Management, International relations, or a relevant discipline with four years of relevant professional experience may be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Procurement, Management, International Relations, or a similar field with two years of relevant professional experience may be accepted
- Six years, minimum, of relevant experience in administration or programme support service
- Experience working in financial reporting, operational transactions will be a plus
- Knowledge of ERP systems is an asset
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of UN rules and procedures in project management, procurement, finance, HR management and administrative rules and regulations will be a plus
- Experience/knowledge of web-based applications and Google Suite products, especially Google Forms, Sheets, is an asset
- Fluency in written and oral English
- Knowledge of another UN working language (desirable)
