The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking to fill the role of Project Management Support.

UNOPS’ mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in designing the community awareness strategy and materials to be used for the Qoloji IDP community
  • Provide assistance in terms of coordination with the IDP appropriate community representatives and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate project activities and get their support and participation
  • Support the operation associate in mapping and coordinating stakeholders working in WASH sector within Qoloji IDP community
  • Assist in coordination of awareness raising activities organised within Qoloji IDP camp
  • Provide support in monitoring and following up the implementation of WASH-related community-led initiatives and compliance with the provisions and tasks and responsibilities under the project
  • Provide assistance in implementation of all aspects of the community awareness operations in the project area
  • Assist the project team for the identification of beneficiaries
  • Assist in the implementation of the awareness and information activities through close coordination with community liaison teams
  • Notify the operations associate and the project manager about anticipated delays or any project-related concerns
  • Provide awareness raising activities to Qoloji IDP community based on identified strategy and time

Requirements

  • Secondary school completion certificate
  • Five years, minimum, of relevant experience in community mobilisation or community awareness activities
  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the required years of experience
  • Experience in working with local authorities and local communities is an asset
  • Experience in working with IDP community is an asset
