The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking to fill the role of Programme Management Senior Assistant.

UNOPS is a UN agency dedicated to implementing infrastructure and procurement projects for the UN system, international financial institutions, governments and other partners around the world.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to day-to-day support to programme/project implementation and ensure conformity to expected results, outputs, objectives and work plans
  • Assist the national coordinator in prescreening project concepts and project proposals, and evaluate the financial part of the project proposals
  • Assist the national coordinator in the development and revision of grant application forms and other management tools, requirements of the programme and other SGP documents
  • Advise potential grantees on project preparation processes and guidelines, and report to the national coordinator and NSC on project development activities, as required
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to new and ongoing projects and their grantees, as required
  • Assist the national coordinator in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, including participation in field visits
  • Provide support on organisation and preparation of minutes of NSC meetings and other SGP events
  • Maintain contacts and professional working relationships with NGOs, governmental institutions, donors, and other SGP stakeholders
  • Assist national coordinator in reporting regularly to the central programme management team (CPMT)
  • Draft memos and other operational documents on behalf of national coordinator, and respond to queries on SGP programme matters
  • Regularly update and maintain the SGP project database as well as the stakeholders’ database

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration or Environmental Science (desirable)
  • Five years, minimum, of relevant experience in office management, including financial reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, database and Internet use
  • Experience with a UN agency is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Fluency in the official national language
  • Knowledge of other UN languages is considered an asset
  • Open to national or naturalised citizen of the country
