The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking to fill the role of Procurement Specialist.

UNOPS’ mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of the head of support services, provide support on procurement and contract management to the various UNMAS programmes supported by ESO
  • Develop and implement strategic and effective procurement services reflecting international public procurement best practices, compliance with UNOPS’ procurement policy, rules, regulations and procedures, ensuring appropriate risk management and obtaining the best value for money for the  acquisition of goods, services and the contracting of work
  • Analyse and interpret respective rules and regulations and provide advice and solutions to a wide spectrum of complex issues related to procurement and contract management
  • Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional ethics
  • Promote a collaborative, client-focused, quality and results-oriented approach

Requirements

  • Advanced degree or equivalent with five years of relevant experience
  • First university degree or equivalent with seven years of relevant experience
  • Professional experience at national or international level in advising on, implementing procurement projects or managing contracts (desirable)
  • Chartered Institute of Supply and Management (CIPS) or similar international certification (desirable)
  • Fluency (spoken and writing in English
  • Knowledge of French and a UN language (desirable)
