The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Human Resources Associate.
UNOPS’ mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance of HR processes and records with UNOPS rules, regulations, policies and strategies
- Contribute to the content of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in HR management in consultation with the direct supervisor
- Provide information to the management and personnel on strategies, HR rules and regulations
- Improve customer’s journey by leveraging data and previous learnings
- Focus on stakeholder’s experience as an engagement strategy
- Ensure full management of a portfolio of clients, including initiation, processing, monitoring, review and follow-up on actions related to the administration of human resource activities
- Ensure assistance in the identification of the mechanisms to attract suitable candidates, active support with sourcing and outreach activities
- Provide administrative and logistical support to general recruitment processes
- Provide advice as HR member on selection panels
- Liaise between unit and internal/external clients to expedite completion of projects, disseminate information, etc
- Ensure research of precedents and analysis of merits of specific requests; presentation of recommendations, taking into account institutionalised exceptions, and submission of recommendation for the approval of departure from established policies, procedures and guidelines
- Support the HR manager on management, implementation, monitoring of various HR initiatives
- Provide advice and guidance to personnel with respect to administrative procedures, processes and practices
- Ensure proactive coordination of the flow of work
- Provide advice to the supervisor on the status of pending requests and work deadlines and provision of proactive customer service to internal and external clients
- Set up and maintain databases
- Contribute to knowledge management projects
- Ensure guidance/training for less-experienced personnel
- Contribute to HR knowledge networks and communities of practice by providing collaborative synthesis of lessons learnt and dissemination of best practices in human resources management
- Provide suggestions for the enhancements of practice policy developments, and support process efficiency initiatives
- Provide input to the development and maintenance of corporate systems and tools
Requirements
- Six years of progressively responsible HR and/or experience in talent acquisition
- One year, minimum, of experience in data analysis and interpretation
- Experience with the use of Google Suite (highly desirable)
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of another official UNOPS language will be an asset
