United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the role of Technology for Development (T4D) Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Foster innovation and technology for development, and oversee piloting, evidence generation and scaling of priority T4D and innovation initiatives
  • Enhance ICT, T4D and innovation governance, collaboration, building of internal and external relationships and capacity
  • Ensure excellence in ICT services and systems, creating an enabling environment for the release and management of organisational ICT services
  • Improve delivery of results

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Sciences, Software Engineering, Information Technology Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with ten years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the above requirement
  • Eight years, minimum, of professional experience in information technology management and business operations in a large international organisation and/or corporation
  • Experience in a UN organisation will be a plus
  • Experience leading (behaviour) change management initiatives will be a plus
  • Certification and/or proven experience in ICT4D project management, business analytics, business relationship management, information security, ICT4D audit and risk management, telecommunications, network information security and software engineering and programming, or formal project management certification will be a plus
  • Work experience in a developing country and/or familiarity with emergency will be a plus
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
  • Knowledge of a local language will be a plus
