United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Supply Associate.

Responsibilities
- Receive supply requisitions, reviews and checks on accuracy of specifications of items
- Confirm availability of funds and obtain additional information from the programme sections as considered necessary
- Monitor assigned PGMs to ensure completion of procurement actions in a timely manner
- Obtain quotations, issue invitation to listed suppliers, and arrange and participate in bid openings with the supply/logistics officer
- Coordinate with programme sections/field offices and suppliers on supply and procurement matters, reviewing ToRs for completeness
- Issue purchase orders/contracts as adjudicated by the supply/logistics officer
- Prepare contract documents including any agreed changes to special terms and conditions
- Obtain legal advice for deviations proposed by suppliers on general terms and conditions
- Manage contract portfolio of the unit including performance of both parties
- Analyse performance data and take corrective action as appropriate
- Manage contract variations, ensuring changes in contractual terms and conditions are in line with market competitiveness
- Undertake market research to identify potential suppliers (under the guidance and supervision of the supply/logistics officer)
- Manage the SEU of vendors in liaison with the supply division, and maintain data base
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
- Secondary school education
- Training in supply/logistics
- Diploma in procurement will be a plus
- Accounting or business study courses, preferably supplemented with a university/technical course in supply/procurement
- Diploma in Warehouse and Supply Management will be an advantage
- Six years of work experience in administrative capacity, preferably in a field related to supply/procurement/logistics
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel applications
- Proficiency in written and oral English and local language of the duty station
