United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the role of Chief Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the country office uses a well-prioritised and realistic resource mobilisation strategy that will provide resources to implement and manage country programme
  • Develop, maintain and update the country office resource mobilisation strategy and associated implementation/action plan
  • Actively participate and contribute to the UNCT fundraising and reporting within the context of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and the UN humanitarian action plan
  • Acquire, cultivate and retain donors and manage meaningful relationships with donors
  • Enhance positive relationships with donors, national committees and donor groups in country and through PPD in their donor capitals through timely and high-quality donor proposals and reports
  • Liaise with various humanitarian funding coordination for timely action on donor funding of humanitarian action

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, or a similar discipline
  • First degree with two years of relevant professional experience may be considered
  • Developing country work experience in international development as well as in international donor relations (desirable)
  • Eight years of relevant professional work experience, including familiarity with emergency programmes
  • Proven ability to develop effective long-term strategic fundraising plans, with appropriate allocation of time and resources, and foresee risks and allow for contingencies when planning
  • Proven ability to implement clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies, identify priority activities, adjust priorities, as needed, to meet organisational goals
  • Ability to identify and grab new fundraising opportunities, formulating new fundraising strategies and models
  • Ability to adjust to unexpected challenges and proposing countermeasures accordingly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of current theories and practices in fundraising/marketing and or corporate communication and experience with commercial marketing and fundraising (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of corporate social responsibility will be a plus
  • Familiarity with the Malian and regional target markets, as well as with the work of the IFI’s (World Bank, IMF, etc.)
  • Fluency in French and English (writing and oral)
