United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the role of Programme Assistant, Health and HIV Section.

Responsibilities
- Compile data and information on subject matters relevant to the work of the section, to facilitate preparation of reports, working papers, and presentations
- Prepare and maintain records pertaining to programme planning and development for respective section
- Carry out transactions in VISION, ensuring programme results, activities and programme coding are in line with annual work plans, and make amendments and alterations as per section revisions when necessary
- Arrange meetings, workshops and training courses pertaining to programme development, and provide support in making the necessary logistical arrangements
- Follow up with the supply section (internally) and counterparts (externally) to ensure supplies for programme implementation are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide support on budget revision/preparation, implementation status, determination position of funding utilisation, and financial closures
- Monitor budgets and financial expenditures of section, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, keeping supervisor informed and advised on actions for decision and follow-up
- Prepare and maintain records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project/programme implementation
- Compile and organise information and data pertaining to donors (both current and potential)
- Compile and organise data and information to assist in the preparation of periodic or ad hoc financial reports relating to country office and donors
- Carry out transactions in VISION pertaining to grants for section such as registering grant allotments and tracking expiring programme grants
- Support the processing of contracts for consultants and external partners pertaining to the section
- Gather and share information as needed in support of improving the processes and daily operations of the section
- Support capacity-development activities related to performance monitoring, programme development, and related internal UNICEF systems/tools by drafting necessary correspondence, compiling data reports and maintaining relevant records
Requirements
- Secondary school education, preferably supplemented with technical or university courses related to the work of the organisation
- Five years, minimum, of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is an asset
- Fluency in French with good working knowledge of English
