United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Planning Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Effective coordination and communication, including partnerships and collaboration
  • Provide support to the UN SDGS group for the implementation of the 2030 agenda in Nigeria
  • Ensure facilitation of knowledge building and management
  • Support national and local capacity building/sustainability
  • Provide support in the rollout of the UNDAF 2018-2022

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field
  • Five years, minimum, of relevant experience at the national and international levels handling development projects
  • Experience in UN coordination and UNDAF mechanisms is a plus
  • Knowledge about the UN and RC systems is a plus
  • Experience in the use of computers and office software packages, and in handling of web-based management systems
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset
  • Fluency in English language
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
