United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the role of Human Resources Associate.

Responsibilities
- In consultation with supervisor, analyse, research, verify, and compile data and information on cases that do not conform to UN or UNICEF’s HR rules and regulations
- In consultation with supervisor, analyse, research and verify information for the purpose of responding to staff queries on areas related to benefits and entitlements including pension fund information
- Initiate the processing of a wide range of personnel actions in accordance with UNICEF rules and regulations by ensuring all relevant forms and actions are completed by staff and forwarded to the GSSC
- Maintain and prepare all personnel-related records and files, ensuring all information on each staff member is up-to-date and accurate
- Support retirees on queries about pension benefits
- Prepare and circulate internal and external advertisements
- Liaise with candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process
- Support hiring managers through the full recruitment process
- Initiate and follow up on reference checks and academic verifications, ensuring the completion of other background checks
- Monitor life cycle of recruitment process to update supervisor
Requirements
- Completion of secondary education preferably supplemented with technical or university courses related to the work of the organisation
- Six years, minimum, of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Knowledge of another official UN language or local language is an asset
