United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the role of Human Resources Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Support in processing of entitlements and benefits of local staff by analysing, researching, verifying, and compiling data and information on cases that do not conform to UN or UNICEF’s HR rules and regulations
  • Support consistent and equitable application of decisions and implementation of agreed-upon action
  • Respond to staff queries on areas related to benefits and entitlements and prepare personnel-related records and files, ensuring all information on each staff member is up-to-date and accurate
  • Support recruitment and placement by preparing and circulating internal and external advertisements
  • Liaise with candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process
  • Prepare formal acknowledgement, offer and regret letters
  • Initiate and follows up on reference checks and academic verification, and ensuring the completion of other background checks and monitor life-cycle of recruitment process to update supervisor as necessary
  • Ensure effective application of ICSC methodology, drafts and edit job descriptions to be submitted for classification for review by supervisor

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organisation
  • Six years, minimum, of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience
  • Experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset
  • Fluency in English
  • Nationality of Sierra Leone
