United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Health Manager.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the monitoring of MNCH programme development, planning, management and implementation
- Provide technical support to national, provincial and district departments of health on MNCH programme implementation
- Ensure advocacy, networking and partnership building with government, UN organisations, civil society and non-governmental organisations
- Ensure knowledge management and capacity building of government, civil society and non-governmental organisations working in MNCH programme implementation
- In conjunction with national, provincial and district departments of health, improve execution of health operational plans among target district health management teams in project districts, including support for capacity building, mentoring and monitoring of the implementation of plans
- Support the alignment with ongoing initiatives across the maternal, newborn and child health continuum of care
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Public Health/Nutrition, Pediatric Health, Family Health, Health Research, Global/International Health, Health Policy, Management, Environmental Health Sciences, Biostatistics, Health Education, Epidemiology, or a related field
- First university degree in a relevant field with two years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree
- Training in fundraising, brand management and/or direct marketing
- Knowledge of children’s rights and business is an asset
- Eight years, minimum, of professional experience in public health/nutrition planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness
- Experience in working in a developing country is considered an asset
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organisation is considered an asset
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered an asset
- Nationality of South Africa
