Responsibilities

  • Support programme development and planning by researching and analysing regional and national political, health, social and economic development trends
  • Collect, analyse, verify, and synthesise information to facilitate programme development, design and preparation
  • Contribute to the development/establishment of sectoral programme
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming processes
  • Prepare required documentation and materials to facilitate the programme review and approval process
  • Ensure programme management, monitoring and delivery of results through working closely and collaboratively with internal colleagues and partners
  • Monitor and report on the use of sectoral programme resources
  • Report on issues identified to ensure timely resolution by management/stakeholders
  • Undertake field visits and surveys and share information with stakeholders to assess progress
  • Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts, NGO partners, UN system partners on the application and understanding of UNICEF policies, strategies, processes and best practices on water, sanitation, hygiene and related issues to support programme implementation, operations and delivery of results
  • Ensure networking and partnership building through building and sustaining effective close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders, as well as drafting communication and information materials for country office programme advocacy to promote awareness, establish partnerships and alliances, and support fund raising for education programmes
  • Research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilisation materials and briefs
  • Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices, as well as research, benchmark and report on best and cutting-edge practices for development planning of knowledge products and systems

Requirements

  • University degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • One year, minimum, of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education
  • Experience working with refugees and migrants
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
  • Nationality of Egypt
