The United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the position of Education Officer.

Responsibilities
- Ensure education programme design, planning, monitoring, data analysis, and progress reporting in Galmudug
- Contribute to the development and tracking of the Galmudug State Education Programme Rolling Work Plan (RWP)
- Contribute to the development of an education programme emergency response plan for the south and central regions, with a particular focus on Galmudug
- Engage in results monitoring, including data analysis and tracking the performance of the education programme within Galmudug State
- Conduct effective and regular monitoring of the education projects implemented by UNICEF partners in Galmudug and provide regular weekly updates and monthly progress reports to the UNICEF CSR
- Provide technical support to partners in Galmudug and build their capacity to ensure the quality and timely implementation of all projects in the region
- Support the preparation and implementation of mid-year and end-year reviews
- Facilitate all activities related to the implementation of the joint KfW-funded resilient programme
- Contribute to strengthening cross-sectoral convergence and integration with other sections internally and externally with other UN agencies
- Work closely and collaboratively with internal colleagues and partners to collect, analyse, and share information on implementation issues
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews, and annual sectoral reviews with government and other counterparts and prepare minutes/reports on results for follow-up action by higher management and other stakeholders
- Prepare draft inputs for programme/donor reporting
- Undertake field visits and surveys and share information with stakeholders to assess progress and refer to relevant officials for resolution
- Report on critical issues, bottlenecks, and potential problems for timely action to achieve results
Responsibilities
- University degree, preferably in Education or a related technical field relevant to UNICEF programmes
- One year, minimum, of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education
- Experience with project management and monitoring and evaluation (desirable)
- Knowledge and field experience in UNICEF programmes or another UN agency, especially in complex emergency environments is an asset
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is an asset
- Fluency in English and local language
- Good written and oral presentation skills
