United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the role of Child Protection Officer.

Responsibilities
- Support programme development and planning by conducting and updating the situation analysis for the development, design and management of child protection-related programmes/projects
- Prepare required programme documentation, material and data to facilitate the programme review and approval process
- Ensure programme management, monitoring and delivery of results through working closely and collaboratively with colleagues and partners
- Keep records of reports and assessments for easy reference
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews and annual sectoral reviews with government and other counterparts
- Monitor and report on the use of sectoral programme resources, verifying compliance with approved allocations, organisational rules, regulations, procedures and donor commitments, standards of accountability and integrity
- Report on critical issues and findings to ensure timely resolution
- Prepare regular reports for management, donors and partners
- Ensure technical and operational support by conducting regular programme field visits and surveys and exchanging information with partners/stakeholders to assess progress
- Ensure networking and partnership building via building and sustaining close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders through active sharing of information and knowledge
- Participate in interagency meetings/events on programming
- Research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilisation materials and briefs for fund raising and partnership development purposes
- Ensure innovation, knowledge management and capacity building by identifying, capturing, synthesising and sharing lessons learnt for knowledge development
- Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices
- Research and report on best and cutting-edge practices
Requirements
- University degree in International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or a related field
- Two years, minimum, of professional experience in social development planning and child protection management
- Experience working in a developing country will be a plus
- Relevant experience in child protection programme development in a UN system agency or organisation will be a plus
- Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts will be a plus
- Fluency in Arabic and very good English
