The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to fill the position of Child Protection Officer. UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and territories to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents, to protect the rights of every child.

Responsibilities
  • Support programme development and planning
  • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
  • Technical and operational support to programme implementation
  • Networking and partnership building
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

 

Requirements

  • A university degree in one of the following fields: International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, International Law or any other relevant Social Science field
  • Two years of professional experience, minimum, in social development planning and management in child protection related areas
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset
  • Relevant experience in programme development in child protection-related areas in a UN system agency or organisation is considered as an asset
  • Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage
  • Fluency in French and English is required
  • Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered an asset
