United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Chief Social Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the Section’s annual work plan with the social policy team
  • Set priorities/targets and performance measurement
  • Monitor work progress and ensure results are achieved according to schedule and performance standards
  • Establish clear individual performance objectives, goals and timelines and provide timely guidance to enable the team to perform tasks responsibly and efficiently
  • Plan and ensure timely performance management and assessment of the team
  • Supervise team members by providing them with clear objectives and goals, direction and guidance to enable them to perform their duties responsibly, effectively and efficiently
  • Improve data on child poverty and vulnerability and increase use for policy and programme action
  • Oversee the office monitoring, evaluation and research planning, and provide technical guidance on the situation analysis and major research and evaluation initiatives
  • Oversee initiatives aimed at SDG data collection
  • Provide timely, regular data-driven analysis for effective prioritisation, planning, and development

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field
  • Eight years, minimum, of relevant professional work experience
  • Work experience in a developing country and/or familiarity with emergency is considered a strong asset
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an asset
