Apply: UNFPA Logistics and Procurement Specialist

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Logistics, Inventory and Emergency Procurement Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Production of short/medium term, operational procurement plans for contraceptive and related products for UNFPA stock and inter-agency reproductive health and similar kits
  • Determination of product stock levels, replenishment cycles, communication with suppliers related to orders and inventory held in supplier warehouses or other locations and facilitation of the management of long term agreements (LTA) with suppliers that maintain inventory on behalf of UNFPA
  • Track, keep record and reconcile inventory held in supplier warehouses/elsewhere
  • Improve knowledge management relating to the logistics, inventory/emergency procurement processes
  • Supervise the inventory/emergency team.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Economics, Law, Public Administration, Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Procurement, Supply Chain Management and Logistics or a related field
  • Procurement accreditation by recognised learning institute such as CIPS is an asset
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, inventory management and procurement operations in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience with managing staff
  • Specialised knowledge in business, logistics, contract management
  • Good knowledge of IT-tools such as Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Oracle or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Good understanding of the UN working environment, including financial framework and procedures
  • Good understanding of international trade laws and treaties is an asset
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable
