United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking to fill the position of Rule of Law Project Manager.
UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective coordination with the responsible and/or focal points and staff from MINUSMA JCS, CAD, UNPOL and HRPD components and UN Women integral part of the joint programme team
- Create and maintain a collaborative working environment within the joint programme team
- Foster actively the exchange of information among all partners to guarantee coherence during the implementation of PROSMED activities
- Develop comprehensive, detailed and aligned joint programme work plans that include programme activities, roles and responsibilities of all partners involved
- Explore stronger synergies and joint programming and implementation modalities with other UNDP and UNCT projects, international and national actors and national stakeholders or partners
- Work with the regional bureau to ensure that relevant cross-border and regional initiatives are timely taken into account during the planning phase of activities
- Provide strong leadership and guidance for the implementation of PROSMED
- Provide strong leadership, vision and strategic direction for the programme
- Manage and coordinate the implementation of respective activities based on the relevant programme documents
- Monitor the progress of implementation of programme activities and key event schedules, observing the work plans and set deadlines
- Prepare regular programme progress reports in collaboration with the joint programme team and ensure timely submission of the reports
- Ensure adherence of programme activities to the existing financial, procurement and administrative processes that are in line with prevailing UNDP rules and regulations and, at the same time, observe the programme timelines
- Ensure programme tracking in ATLAS in accordance with UNDP procedures
- Ensure regular monitoring and evaluation, including, but not limited to, regular field visits as well as preparation and participation in steering committee meetings
- Manage the transfer of programme deliverables to national beneficiaries and other stakeholders
- Ensure sufficient resource mobilisation for the programme in close consultation with senior management
- Promote the programme by ensuring appropriate levels of visibility and public awareness
- Support the rule of law advisor in providing policy advice to UNDP senior management in Mali, government counterparts, donors and other partners on issues related to rule of law
- Provide sector specific and technical policy advice in coordination with the CO support management team
- Support programming and implementation of the global focal point for rule of law approach
- Provide support to COs conducting and engaging in assessments related to all forms of crisis response
- Complete any other tasks as assigned by the country office
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Law, Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Development or a related field
- Seven years, minimum, of relevant professional experience in rule of law, including conflict prevention, security, justice, human rights, anti-corruption and prevention of violent extremism
- Five years, minimum, of experience in project management and coordination with responsibilities of similar scope and complexity
- Written and spoken proficiency in French
- Written and spoken proficiency in English
