United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Programme Associate.

UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Present thoroughly researched information for preparation of CCA, UNDAP, CPD, CPAP, effective application of RBM tools and establishment of management targets (BSC)
  • Establish the mechanisms to track use of RBM tools and maintenance of RBM database
  • Present information/reports for identification of areas for support and interventions
  • Implement the CO partnerships and resources mobilisation strategies, and prepare reports
  • Initiate a project, entering project into Atlas (in small offices), and preparation of required budget revisions
  • Provide guidance to the executing agencies on routine implementation of projects, and track use of financial resources
  • Follow up on performance indicators/success criteria, targets and milestones
  • Analyse the situation in programme, identify operational and financial problems, and develop solutions
  • Prepare and conduct NEX projects, and implement audit recommendations
  • Ensure proper control of the supporting documents for payments, and review NEX projects

Requirements

  • Secondary education, preferably with specialised certification in Accounting and Finance
  • University degree in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Political or Social Sciences (desirable)
  • Seven years of progressively responsible administrative or programme experience
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, and experience in handling of web-based management systems
  • Fluency in the UN and national languages of the duty station
  • Nationality of Rwanda
