United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Programme Analyst.
UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.
Responsibilities
- Assist in research, information gathering and analysis, with emphasis on supporting and promoting peacebuilding and conflict prevention
- Identify entry points and support inclusive and conflict-aware approaches in efforts to strengthen national capacities for conflict prevention, particularly with regard to civil society
- Provide technical support for coordination, partnerships and monitoring and evaluation
- Participate in research, information gathering and analysis, with emphasis on supporting and promoting peacebuilding and conflict prevention
- Collect and process data and information relevant to the role and activities of the United Nations in Togo and in the sub-region
- Support the PDA to undertake political, political economy and/or conflict analysis, monitor the situation in the country and report on issues related to peace and security, including analysing local sources
- Conduct and coordinate research on specific issues and thematic areas, in particular, emerging issues related to cross-border prevention of violent extremism and its security component
- Carry out mapping and analysis with the capacities of civil society actors (including youth, women and marginalised groups) in conflict prevention/peacebuilding at local and national levels
- Participate in research, information gathering and analysis, with emphasis on supporting and promoting peacebuilding and conflict prevention
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, International Economics, Law, or Public Administration
- Two years, minimum, of progressively responsible experience in conflict analysis, development and/or prevention within a governmental, multilateral or civil society organisation
- Experience in research or initiatives related to conflict prevention and peacebuilding at national and local levels
