United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Finance Associate.

UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, promoting programmes tackling poverty, and minimising inequalities and exclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Full compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations of financial processes, financial records and reports and audit follow-up; implementation of the effective internal control framework
  • Provide inputs for implementation of cost-saving and reduction strategies in consultation with the office management
  • Prepare cost-sharing and trust-fund agreements, and follow up on contributions within the country office resource mobilisation efforts
  • Prepare and modify budgets for UNDP management projects, and follow up with headquarters on ASL for management projects
  • Present researched information for planning and status of financial resources of the country office
  • Send project budget to KK if authorised by the senior management
  • Ensure timely preparation of cost-recovery bills in Atlas for the services provided by UNDP, implementation of the income tracking system and follow up on cost recovery

Requirements

  • Six years, minimum, of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience
  • Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems and ERP financials, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of IPSAS
  • Fluency in oral and written English
  • Knowledge of other official UN languages (desirable)
