United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Country Programme Analyst.
UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.
Responsibilities
- Undertake desk reviews and collect information from other country programmes, evaluations, performance analytic, and other available sources of lessons
- Compile and update information from country offices within portfolio relating to annual and ad-hoc plans for advisory support, working with the country programme specialist and the policy teams
- Analyse aggregated requests in order to identify trends and identify areas where country office may require additional resources, advice or training
- Track country office progress in meeting planning cycle deadlines, making recommendations to preclude delays and escalating concerns to the country programme specialist as needed
- Follow up on agreed actions for authorisation of direct implementation where required
- Review past evaluation findings and identify relevant lessons learnt, sharing insights and recommendations with the country programme specialist in order to support effective planning of country office programme, CPAP and SCF
- Conduct desk research and liaise with the results-based management team and policy advisors to identify best practices and guidance in support of the design of realistic and measurable monitoring indicators and targets for country office programmes
- In close coordination with the regional hub teams and MST, support the country programme specialist by collecting data on country office performance against operational, financial and efficiency targets
- Monitor country office risks and mitigation or escalation plans using the IRRF platform and providing timely information and recommendations to the supervisor to preclude issues and/or delays
Requirements
- University degree in Economics, International Development and/or Relations, Political Science, or a relevant field
- Two years, minimum, of professional work experience in development, economics or other related areas
- Proficiency in English
- Knowledge of French is an asset
