UN Women is seeking to fill the position of Procurement Associate.

UN Women is the UN agency dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare procurement-related reports and analyses, research and draft responses to enquiries for clearance by operations manager
  • Coordinate the implementation of corporate procurement management policies and strategies in support of cost saving and operations for the multi country office (MCO) in the region
  • Finalise procurement plans for programmes/projects and monitor their implementation
  • Review procurement requests and initiate procurement procedures for office and project equipment, supplies and services in the RO, MCO, and COs
  • Review/process contracts for the MCO in the region
  • Monitor and analyse contract performance
  • Develop and update the rosters of suppliers, and support implementation of supplier selection and evaluation
  • Develop and support the development of training materials, webinars and other education materials
  • Organise procurement training

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education
  • Specialise training in Procurement/bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or a related field is an asset
  • Procurement certification from an internationally recognised institution such as CIPS is an asset
  • Willingness to take UN Women internal procurement certifications
  • Seven years, minimum, of responsible experience in procurement, administration
  • Experience in the use of computer and Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in handling of web-based management systems such as Atlas
  • Working knowledge of another official UN language will be an asset
  • Fluency in oral and written English
