The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has announced a call for applications for the UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture.
The fund, Development Diaries understands, provides direct assistance to victims of torture and their family members wherever torture occurs.
Grants may only be awarded to organisations for projects that provide direct assistance to victims of torture and their family members. Such assistance may be in the form of medical, psychological, legal or social assistance.
Benefits
- First time applicants or organisations previously supported by the fund can receive up to $50,000
Eligibility
- Applications from all regions will be accepted
- Open to non-governmental entities with two years, minimum, of experience in providing redress and rehabilitation to victims of torture and their family members
- All applications should be submitted in English, French or Spanish
