Apply: U.S. Embassy Uganda Community Grants

The United States (U.S.) Embassy, Kampala, has announced a call for applications for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Community Grants to Combat HIV/AIDS.

PEPFAR focuses on income generating activities that improve care, support, and economic conditions for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and those directly affected by HIV/AIDS.

Benefits
  • Successful applicants can receive between $4,000 and $15,000

Eligibility

  • Open to registered non-profit Ugandan organisations such as community-based organisations (CBOs), faith-based organisations (FBOs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
  • Organisations selected for funding are required to have a direct impact in their local community and have community support in the form of funding, labour and/or other services
  • Selected organisations must be able to establish clear performance goals, indicators and timely project deliverables that can be externally verified
  • Funded organisations are also required to monitor, measure and report results achieved in accordance with PEPFAR’s reporting requirements
  • Once the grant is over, the organisation must be sustainable on its own or with other funding from the community and/or other donors
