Deadline: 13 September, 2021
The Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) has opened applications for the Partnership Against Child Exploitation (PACE) Radio Journalism Course.
Globally, it is estimated that 152 million children aged five to 17 are engaged in child labour. About half of them (72.5 million) perform hazardous work that places their health, safety or moral development at risk.
The United Nations has declared 2021 the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour, inspiring international action to eliminate child labour across the world by 2025.
PACE is a groundbreaking partnership of private sector, academic, media development and civil society organisations working together to combat the exploitation of children in the worst forms of child labour.
Operating in three African countries – Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Ethiopia – the PACE programme aims to identify the most effective strategies to combat the exploitation of children in the worst forms of child labour through a range of initiatives.
