Tearfund has opened applications for the role of the Regional Programme and Operations Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of skilled individuals to provide essential support and coordination at regional level to country programmes in the areas of programme planning, design, monitoring, evaluation and learning (DMEAL), operational support and quality assurance, business development, effectiveness and impact and communications
  • Support the implementation of the regional strategy and programme performance and support country teams to deliver effective country strategies and plans
  • Support monitoring country programmes compliance with internal quality standards, policies and practices and ensure they meet agreed standards
  • Coordinate closely with the regional director, country directors, operations and assurance, finance, integrated media and Communications and global impact team and to feed information and learning back into regional and global level management

Requirements

  • Degree and/or equivalent qualification in Humanitarian Development, Management or any related field
  • Experience in a similar position at a regional, country or senior managerial level
  • Extensive progressive experience in the areas relevant to this position, such as Operations, Assurance, DMEAL
  • Experience in management and leadership positions in INGO
  • Experience in engagement with compliance of partner programming
  • Experience in training and/or mentoring/coaching
  • Experience of oversight of compliance and security
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong leadership, influencing and other people management skills
  • Proven ability of working effectively in teams from multicultural contexts
  • Training, mentoring and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Negotiation and representation skills
  • Able to work in a fast moving environment and comfortable with constant change
  • Good knowledge of donor reporting and financial requirements
  • Proven computer literacy, including good knowledge of the Google suite
  • Committed Christian with a personal relationship with God
  • Committed to Tearfund’s mission, values and beliefs

  • Ability and commitment to apply biblical principles prayerfully within all aspects
