Apply: South Africa Basic Education Employment

South Africa’s Department of Basic Education has opened applications for phase two of the Basic Education Employment Initiative.

The country seeks to mitigate the devastating economic challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic with the goal of providing 287,000 unemployed young people with employment and training opportunities in the education sector.

Benefits

  • Candidates chosen for placement will be given the opportunity to receive training in a variety of skills that will prepare them for future employment opportunities

Eligibility

  • Open to youths between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Open to youths not currently enrolled in school or training and not receiving any form of government grant
  • Eligible young people with disabilities and women are encouraged to apply
