SNV is seeking to fill the role of Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Execute overall project management
  • Guide the project implementation, including developing workplans, budgets and competency table with financial responsibilities and mandates
  • Build, strengthen and manage partnerships with local and national governments, private sector partners, institutions and other stakeholders
  • Manage donor relations and the donor contract
  • Ensure overall management of all human, physical and financial resources related to the project
  • Monitor performance of the project management team to ensure all milestones set in the annual workplan are met
  • Develop mitigation plans to reduce risks and take corrective actions to remedy any deviation from the workplans
  • Account and report to SNV and the donor on project performance
  • Guide knowledge development, documentation, communication and branding in close collaboration with the donor
  • Identify follow-up funding and partnership possibilities with country management and business development

Requirements

  • Advanced qualification in Governance, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field
  • Ten years, minimum, of relevant work experience in managing and implementing projects
  • Work experience in Africa, preferable West Africa
  • Solid experience in project management
  • Proven experience with gender-specific monitoring and evaluation and reporting
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organisational skills
  • Strong strategic decision-making and communication skills including reporting and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and build capacity in intercultural environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate clearly, tactfully and sensitively and to interact with people from different social and cultural backgrounds
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and regular communication channels (Internet, email, Skype)
  • Willingness to live and work in the duty station and travel to project implementation locations in North Benin
