SNV is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Country Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Translate the global finance strategy and policies and procedures into country context, considering national context and (development) plans of the SNV country operations/programme
• Implement finance strategy, after country director’s approval, and contribute to the development of mid-term country projections and to projects from a financial perspective
• Identify and analyse financial opportunities and threats and inform the country director and/or global support unit
• Supervise and organise the finance function in the country and manage the finance employees, activities and all aspects within the finance team in accordance with the approved plan, budget and relevant procedures, in order to realise the finance objectives of both the donors and SNV
• Act as the country’s source of expertise on financial issues for management and project managers and ensure timely and proper financial project administration
• Manage intercompany projects to ensure a reconciliation of intercompany balances

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Professional Accounting
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
• Experience in finance, audit and full understanding of the core financial and accountancy processes
• Eight years, minimum, of experience in a senior level role with an international organisation or a private institution
• Knowledge and understanding of donor regulations and compliance issues related to management of donor funds
• Experience in grant accounting/management
• Experience in risk management
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, including the ability to articulate financial data to non-financial audience
• Proficiency/knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent command of English language (written and spoken)
• Nationality of Uganda
