Plan International is seeking to fill the role of Country Sponsorship Manager.

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update Plan International Cameroon sponsorship strategy and annual plans
  • Plan and organise work to meet sponsorship objectives
  • Contribute to sponsorship systems and policy development
  • Build and maintain good relationships with Plan International Cameroon functional departments, WACAH countries, NOs and GH
  • Support capacity building of Plan International staff, members of SP communities on sponsorship systems and sponsorship issues
  • Represent Plan International Cameroon at sponsorship-related forums/meetings
  • Manage the sponsorship department and staff in Plan International Cameroon
  • Ensure sponsorship corporate systems are always in place, updated, secure and maintained as per GH/WACAH standards
  • Ensure the production of sponsorship communications in the field follows the sponsorship manual guidelines
  • Ensure all electronic transactions of the sponsorship corporate systems are always done effectively and on time
  • Ensure the successful rollout of all child data releases
  • Support PUs to take remedial action when problems occur and/or when remedial action is required
  • Ensure the sorting out and dispatches of all outgoing and incoming sponsorship communications including tracking of dispatches on time
  • Coordinate and follow up sponsor’s visits between field and NOs, arranging all logistics for the visit and ensuring the successful completion and reporting of the visit
  • Ensure the quality check and timely submission of all sponsorship communication/documents sent from Cameroon to RH/NOs/GH
  • Ensure up-to-date training packages are always available on all sponsorship processes and systems
  • Ensure all changes in sponsorship are always oriented to all staff concerned
  • Plan the teamwork and produce high quality results
  • Show leadership in organising/handling work and staff
  • Update sponsorship team, area teams, eCLT and CLT members on all changes
  • Provide periodical reports and analysis on sponsorship performance
  • Support PIIAM, PIIAC and PIM, ensuring PSAF and community agents and volunteers are fully involved in project delivery
  • Ensure identification and mitigation of country and systemic risks associated with sponsorship
  • Coordinate the production of a sponsorship area document and ensure timely submission to the sponsorship communication hub
  • Ensure caseload for the country is properly managed and closely monitor green sheet

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • High level of written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to mentor, coach and train on topics related to safeguarding of children and young people
  • Knowledge of the national and international instruments related to sponsorship and how to process quality communication in the corporate system
  • Five years, minimum, of substantial experience of working with communities and community volunteers in the development and humanitarian field
  • Demonstrated ability to set up learning and development processes for staff and community volunteers on how to manage school or community sponsorship
  • Ability to influence change at an operational and strategic level based on Plan International’s country strategy among staff and implementing partners (desirable )
