Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Sponsorship Engagement Alumni Coordinator.

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

Responsibilities

  • Understand what alumni want to advocate and campaign for and their ideas on how to use media to do this in an effective way
  • Support in creating the vision for what a Plan International ‘alumni network’ can achieve
  • Work with the alumni networks in West and Central Africa to decide what they want to test
  • Create an approach for how to grow the network and engage more Plan International alumni
  • Engage and collaborate effectively with other youth movements in West and Central Africa for alignment and consolidated efforts to increase impact in the achievement of children’s rights and equality for girls

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma from a reputable institution
  • Ability to work with colleagues in West and Central Africa as applicable
  • IT and digital skills (able to use Microsoft Office and social media channels)
  • Ability to travel within PIIAS for field visits as required
  • Ability to facilitate difficult discussions with various stakeholders
  • Experience in coordinating or leading a group or community
  • Experience in managing a budget
  • Ability to apply good principles of project cycle management including monitoring, evaluation and learning
  • Understanding of gender and inclusion in emergencies, and specific gender inequalities and risks in emergency contexts
  • Influence change in staff and/or partners who do not yet share a commitment to gender equality and girls’ empowerment
  • Strong team-building and motivational skills
  • Ability to inspire others and bring them around a common agenda
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes and theories of gender and inclusion programming
  • Excellent command of English (speaking and writing)
