Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Project Coordinator.

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of donor work plans and coordinate/supervise all activity plans (of both partners and Plan International) and ensure donor and Plan International standards are followed
  • Follow up to ensure implementation of any recommendations by programmes team at country office
  • Coordinate with MERL team to roll out result frameworks for the team to understand the requirements
  • Routinely update and track all output indicators to inform project progress
  • Support the project team to apply programme results and lessons learnt to refine activities and implementation
  • Coordinate timely submission of high quality narrative and financial reporting to donors
  • Produce result-based project implementation reports
  • Relate well with all partners and support them to effectively deliver the agreed results
  • Give constructive and timely feedback to partners and colleagues
  • Lead reflection and feedback meetings with partners, and share success stories
  • Maintain close working relationships with implementing partners, international NGOs, and local NGOs and associations in the project areas
  • Tailor own work practices
  • Take decisions within the accepted parameters of the role
  • Share appropriate and timely information with others
  • Recognise when to refer any problem up to more senior colleagues
  • Translate project learning and results into a success stories
  • Encourage staff to form relationships that encourage knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Degree in Community Development, Education, Social Sciences, International Development or equivalent
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • Three years, minimum, of experience as a technical staff in a related field
  • Two years, minimum, of providing training/capacity building to the community and partners
  • Experience in monitoring of education projects, child protection and ASRH
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability and willingness to travel intensively in the fields
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and othersrelated packages
