Plan International is seeking to fill the role of Country People and Culture Manager.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the team and be involved in the daily operations
- Ensure that staff rewards are based on equity and inclusion and are competitive to local labour markets
- Ensure that HR systems and data are accurate and protected
- Ensure staff are aware of their contractual rights and responsibilities in delivering their work for Plan International in line with the code of conduct and other policies
- Ensure local and global child and youth safeguarding policies are well understood and consistently implemented across the country office
- Support management with advice on the P&C policies, legal issues and organisational change, advise and support country leadership team (CLT) on personnel matters within their team in order to support in business decisions and act as an effective business partner within the country
- Offer sound technical advice in HR and staff management
- Ensure roles are filled, and people join Plan International at the right time, with the right competencies in an equitable and transparent way and complete a comprehensive induction process
- Provide strategic P&C input into the development of country strategy, taking an overview of the P&C strategies within this to ensure that they incorporate effective workforce planning tools and are aligned to global P&C strategy
- Drive operational excellence in line with Plan International’s strategy and focus on meeting customer needs and delivery of the agreed services to a high quality, on time and within budget
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management with HR professional qualifications and six years, minimum, of experience in HR management
- Knowledge of organisational development
- Firsthand experience and knowledge of working in development sectors in Senegal or West Africa (desirable)
- Understanding of what safeguarding means
- Understanding of the scope of safeguarding
- Understanding of the implications and impact of power within organisations and communities on safeguarding and how to apply a gender and intersectional lens to safeguarding children and young people
- Understanding of the range of tools and resources available for implementing safeguarding across all business areas
- Understanding of how to address issues that may arise in the implementation of the safeguarding policy
- Be of Nigerien nationality
